Affordable Dependable Car?

by admin on December 20, 2009 · 4 comments

Okay I’m thinking about giving up my Jeep Cherokee for a cheaper affordable economy car. I’ve looked into Ford Focus, Kia Rio/Spectra, Toyota Camry, Corolla, Honda’s etc. Basically I want something dependable, affordable car insurance, long lasting, and a gas saver. Any information is greatlly appreciated.
My First car was a GrandAm and it was a lemon. I spent more money fixing it then it was worth. No GrandAms here! But still thank you for your answer

I just bought my college age daughter a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am. I t gets 30 miles to the gallon and cost $8000. which was not a bad price. It is insurance reasonable, dependable and it had low mileage. It is made in the good ole USA too! My older son drove one years ago for a long time. The other cars you mentioned are good also but more pricey even for used ones.

If it’s a new car, the Focus is the way to go. If it’s used, the year and condition will be bigger factors. Check out Mercury too, they were ranked 3rd in quality as a brand, behind Lexus, Buick, and Cadillac. The Milan is ranked highest in initial quality, or something like that, and is available with a 4 cylinder engine.
