Hi, Im 16 years old, going to get my license, and did parent taught drivers ed. All my life, ive wanted to drive, but now, I hear that car insurance for teenagers is so damn high. I heard it is at least 200 a month, and I know for a fact my parents cant afford that? What should I do? Some people I heard pay only 20 dollars a month, how the hell did they get suc ha low rate?
Also, Id like to drive a sports car, which im guessing is gonna make insurance way higher. So where can my parents get affordable insurance for me?

I don’t think that anybody pays only $20 a month. That’s too little. If your parents add you to their policy, it will be much less then them paying for your own policy.
Ok, the drivers ed you took was taught by your parents? To save you a little money, take a state approved course, it will save a little in insurance. Keep your grades up, most companies do provide good-student discounts.
Sports cars are a no-no for a few years at least. They will drive up insurance, and you don’t need one to have a good time driving around. Just make sure to keep yourself out of trouble. Stay at a reasonable speed and obey the laws. Tickets work magic on the price of insurance.
And probably the most obvious, get yourself a part time job. Nothing too crazy, something around 20 hours a week. You will most likely need money for gas, and it won’t hurt to offer your parents a bit to help with insurance.
ur in the same spot as i am..im 19 i pay for my own insurance full coverage on my mustang mach 1…its high like 300 a month..there is no substitute for good insurance…it will be high esp if u want a sports car… and being 16 and a fresh driver ur gonna be screwed that much more….the best solution is to get a job
