Compare car insurance with health insurance, car insurance is a law, health insurance isn't why?

car insurance is a law right? and I know a lot of people that have a very difficult time paying car insurance since it’s so high, but it seems like insurance companies are making a lot of money, NOW how can we compare that to health insurance if it became a law to have to have it.
You would hope that health insurance would be more affordable since more people are putting money into the pot right, but I am afraid but it being a law, the rich (insurance companies will get richer) and raise the cost of health insurance since it’s a law.
Maybe our solution would be to have our government give us tax breaks on health insurance premiums and some how get more for our money with health insurance. It’s sad that you have to spend 0.00 a month for health insurance but still have to pay office visits and wait 6 months for preexisting problems.
Maybe the solution is to have better health insurance options, right?
Isn’t that what McCain wants?

Car insurance that is law is liability to someone else. I have a car with only liability by my choice. If I wreck it, insurance won’t fix it. Health insurance is not a liability issue and if a person chooses not to have it, it should not be law that they do.

When auto insurance became law in Texas the priced almost doubled. People whine about the oil companies, nobody talks about the sheer profit of insurance companies.

Alot of people can’t afford cars because of the insurance.

So what? Now they won’t be able to afford a LIFE either?

If you run over somebody it’s only fair that you are insured so the person gets compensation (or their family if you kill them) for something that was not caused by them.

But if you get an illness and can’t be cured because you have no insurance then you aren’t hurting anyone else so it’s up to you
I think the solution would be to copy all those countries that don’t have any health insurance problems so that Americans can finally MOVE ON and forget all the wasted energy spent on this cr** issue

If someone had "the" answer for this it would be done already. The problem is when you are dealing with such a large group (all of America) there are always tons of repercussions…. and it takes a long time for things to filter through and it can take years before anyone really knows if it works…. If you want the solution to this you can move to Norway…. the tax rate is 60% and the government guarantees everything including health insurance and retirement benefits.
