Do you need to include parking tickets when getting a quote for car insurance?

The car insurance web site asked ‘have you recieved any driver or vehicle related tickets or citations’ … does this include parking tickets? If so, is there a way they can tell if you’ve had a parking ticket before and does this affect your quote?

Parking tickets should not effect your insurance.

I’ve never had to include them.

No, they only want to know about moving violations. They are trying to determine how safe of a driver you are to know what risk they will have.
