Has anyone filed a formal complaint because of excessive credit inquiries by an automobile dealer?

When attempting to purchase a used vehicle, the dealer owning the car indiscriminately queried over 10 banks to find a lender willing to loan on a car with excessive mileage. The net result is a sudden plunge in my FICO score.

The same thing happened to me. I had gotten approved for a loan from one company, but a few days later I was getting denial letters from all these different lenders and I had already had my car. My credit score dropped over 20 points. But what i found out is that when we go to purchase a car, we should take a current credit report with us and ask the dealer if they can give you a loan based on your report. I know it’s too late now, but it helps for future reference…
