Help with automobile insurance?
I’m an 18 year old female with no prior car accidents or speeding tickets. I have a part time job and I’m going to be starting classes at a local community college soon. Around how much do you think auto insurance would be for 1) a motorcylce and 2) a small sedan
I already know I can get free quotes but I just wanted to see people’s estimates so I can guess around how much this will set me back per month. I know I should be more specific but again I just need educated guesses. Thanks!

Depends on the state.
But it’s going to be high to get insurance on your own. You might be able to have your parents on your insurance to bring down the price a bit. Being young is a risk factor in insurance, and you’ll be qualified as a youthful driver either until you’re married or you’re 25 (depending on the state), when rates will go down. There are things that you can do to bring things down. First of all, drive a safe vehicle, and probably an older one. If you have an older car and just want liability insurance on it (you cover other people if you get in an accident) without the additional comprehensive (hit a deer, parked car gets hit, etc) and collision (accidents), you’ll save money, because comp & collision is expensive. If you have to have comp & collision (newer car, car is worth fixing if in accident, have a loan on the vehicle), you can put a higher deductible (the amount you would pay if your car is in an accident) to lower the cost of the premium. And then there are discounts. Because you have no tickets on your record, you can most likely qualify for some type of safe driver discount. Once you’re going to school, you can get a good driver discount (usually you need a GPA of 3.0 or higher for this), and some companies might give you a defensive driver discount if you take additional driving courses. Make sure to ask any agent who is giving you a quote about discounts, and get quotes from a few different places (keep the quotes and details they give you) so you can shop around. Have the agents explain all of the different coverages and what everything on the policy means.
For a sedan, you might be looking at $100 a month because you’re so young. For a motorcycle, you might not be able to get coverage without already having an auto policy in the household (this can be helped by being in your parents’ household on insurance), but if you can get motorcycle insurance, it is noticably cheaper than a car to insure, I usually see yearly premiums under $200. Motorcycle insurance is really different compared to auto, though.
Hope I helped.

I couldn’t give you an exact price. I live in Gardena, California and I’m 19. i’m going to be driving a 2000 pontiac grand am. This insurance agent and a place called Same Day insurance INC (In lawndale) quoted me 36.00 for liability and 75.00 for full coverage. He said that since I have no record of accidents or tickets then I would get a good down payment rate. Just shop around online for quotes that’s how he ended up emailing me. and they will come to you. Especially if they see your a new driver I thought I would never find a good quote, but I did
If you want and if you live near by los angeles I can email you a quote 2 agents gave me that’s below 100 a month and the down-payment is 100. Now I will have insurance by tomorrow.

You could be the most careful driver in the world, but your age is still gonna make the prices go way up. There is no way of answering your question because I dont know what kind of coverage you want. Do you want just liability? comprehensive? collision? all these will greatly vary the answer to your question. Also a "small sedan" isnt specific enough. Neither is "a motorcycle". The prices will vary greatly from car to car and bike to bike.
