Insuranceman January 31, 2010 at 8:14 am: You can get a QUOTE at ANY age…..however, a QUOTE is ONLY a quote.

In order to buy an insurance policy, you will have to be at LEAST 18 to have the policy in your name. You have to be at least 18 to sign a contract and an insurance policy IS a contract.

Until you are 18, you will probably have to be on your parent(s)’ insurance policy.

DjB January 31, 2010 at 8:14 am: Old enough to drive the vehicle you’re searching to insure although be wary of some comparison sites as they’re often unable to deal with 16 year olds trying to insure scooters and mopeds.

rtfm January 31, 2010 at 8:14 am: You can be any age to get the quotes on line, but if you don’t give accurate information about your *real* age when you’re applying for the quote, then the quote won’t be right!
mbrcatz17 January 31, 2010 at 8:14 am: You’re going to have to be 18, because of the whole credit scoring thing, their programs won’t accept someone under 18. If you’re under 18, and need a quote, you’ll have to go to a real live agent.
