How would a car insurance company discover an underage drinking ticket?
I wasn’t driving, therefore it wont be on my driving record only my criminal. I was wondering if a car insurance company checks criminal records while you have insurance with them? The case was resolved through "stay of adjudication" which means if i keep my nose clean for a year it will be dismissed.
Thank you for your help.

There are lots of places where you can get an online quote. http://www.autoadvicetips.com/Auto-Insurance-Quote.html It only takes about 5 minutes to do.

Your insurance company does routine checks every few months. If the ticket is vehicle related, your rates will go up. If it has nothing to do with your car or driving, they can still raise your rates, but probably won’t.
If it’s not considered a vehicle or traffic offense, they don’t really need to raise your rates.

They can get your criminal record if they want to by just communicating with the prosecuting district. Hell, I can go online now and tell you all the convictions EVER in my county.

If you weren’t driving and received the ticket……….then it would not matter who was with the driver……….you were not in control of the vehicle……..

YEA, but. it’s still there!
After Home Land Security Act!
Everything on everyone is brought to the surface,
even those who have "had their record expunged", are now having
problems!
If, it’s there they will find it!
Ins companies are as "bad as the GESTAPO" of old!

when they run a background check, they will find it. Don’t lie about it. And just to let you know, it will ALWAYS be on your record. It’s BS about when you turn 18, civil offenses, and dismissed charges.
A cop brought up a civil offense I did at 16 when I was 20.
I was told my civil offense (at 20) would be off my record in a year if I didn’t mess up. Well, it’s been longer than a year, and it’s still on my record.
If you had a drunk driving charge dismissed, and were caught drunk driving years later, they will use that against you in court. They say it will be gone, so you’ll admit to it. Never trust a cop. Read your rights, especially if you plan on breaking the law. If you don’t know your rights, you will get effed.

Well an underage drinking ticket wouldn’t show on your driving record. So they wouldn’t know.
