Is there any affordable Car Insurance for 16 year olds?
PLEASE READ: The problem is this. I’m 16 years old, and I really would like to own a car. But the problem is this. When your 16 and you first get insurance, it is super expensive. I have a brother the same age who would also like a car. But I have a single mother. If we have 3 cars and 3 people on one policy, that means it will cost over 10,000 dollars. I know I have to take a defensive drivers course to get 10% off, and I should get honor roll (But that’ss too hard). I’ve suggested that we get minimal coverage, but my moms the kind of person who thinks she has to pay a lot of money to be covered. Because she won’t take minimal coverage, Now I can’t have a car. What is the name of a car insurance company that is very affordable but does not make you go on minimal coverage to afford it? If you want, you can tell me what it cost you so I get a best estimate. Thanks.

Mom is right, minimal coverage is useless and if sued you could lose everything.
Your age insurance is 2500 and not affordable.Like or Dislike:

and if you are a guy its worse than being a girl. Statistics dictate the prices. Plus minimal coverage is not always the smartest idea and on a new car can’t happen. The minimal; coverage vaires by state as well. However 10k sounds a bit high to me. Then again insurance companies are typically thieves so you are pretty much stuck. I would suggest a very low priced "fishing" car and shop around for insurance. Defensive drivers course is now mandatory in several states as well. It sucks but its called reality.

Keep in mind that along with the defensive driver course discount your mother will probably also benefit from a multiple car discount too which she didn’t have before.
Why can’t your brother and you share a car for now and split the costs that go along with the privilege of having a car? Your mom will still get a multiple car discount but there will be less cost.
Typically, with the bigger insurance companies, there is not much difference in premium between lower limits and higher limits. And you should try to stick with the same carrier as your mom as to not run into excluded driver issues…meaning if you have different carriers, sometimes the insurance company will not cover you if you drive mom’s car and are involved in an accident and vice versa.
Good luck, and props to you for being responsible enough to try to get answers for your situation

This reminds me of the commercial with the lady that says Discount!
It should be,
Are you already paying outrageous costs even with our said discounts? Discount
Are we making billions of dollars in profit each year just because its the law to have insurance and 95 % of senators/law makers own insurance companies?Discount.
Do insurance companies accuse people of "playing the system" when really its us that are making ungodly profits and paying our ceos and employees unheard of salaries? DiscountLike or Dislike:

No, there is not any affordable car Insurance for 16 year olds.
Your mother would have to pay a lot of money to be covered even if she was willing to take minimal coverage. The reason that she would have to pay a lot of money is not because she will not take minimal coverage. Even minimal coverage would cost a lot at your age.
There is not car insurance company that is very affordable for someone your age. There is no car insurance company that is very affordable and does not make you go on minimal coverage to afford it. There is no car insurance company that is very affordable and does make you go on minimal coverage to afford it. For 16-year-olds, there is no car insurance company that is very affordable at all. Not with minimal coverage, and not without it.Like or Dislike:
