Need help with a question about car insurance quotes.?

Is it legal for someone else to get an insurance quote for you without your permission? The person called and told the insurance company they were cars he was thinking of buying. Neither car is in his name and neither owner gave express permission for him to ask for this information.

    If he gave HIS personal information, HIS drivers license information, HIS address etc & he was just getting quotes on cars he was thinking about, it is not illegal. There is really nothing you can do, he didn’t steal your identity by giving your information, did he??
    I guess more information would be needed about these quotes. Did he purchase an insurance policy IN YOUR NAME???

    I don’t think there is any problem for anyone to get a quote, if someone gets a policy without your permission then you have a problem. But in order to open a policy under your name you would need to be present to verify identity and sign the policy.
