URGENT: How do I get affordable car insurance for my foreign fiancee before her driving test?

    If possible have her get her license in her own country Before she arrives here. That way she will already be a licensed driver and she won’t need a driving test. She will just need to pass written and eye exams.

    With that said she would be like any other unlicensed driver as far as insurance goes. Try putting her on your policy as a second driver rather than getting a separate policy. As far as insurance is concerned she’s an inexperienced driver so she is going to be expensive to insure.

    You can go to esurance.com to shop around for the best price on your behalf. You may want to check with your state law, but in my state (Illinois for example) the insurance policy follows the vehicle, not the driver. For instance, if I allowed an unlicensed, uninsured driver borrow my car (NEVER!) and they got in an accident, as long as my vehicle is covered with liability insurance, the accident and any injuries would be covered. Good luck.
