Unfortunatly they all use complicated formulas that are different so they all have different rates for different people. It's not like buying shampo. Each person has to do their own shopping. They are not the cheapest, but actually pay claims and have great customer service. I would call the bigger agencies like SF, Allstate, to get rates. If you buy cheap auto insurance, you might find yourself getting very poor service and a lousy settlement if you have a claim. On the other hand, paying a high price for auto insurance does not always result in the opposite of that situation. For my money, I'd go with State Farm. Once you build an accident-free driving record, they will reward you with discounts. Also, State Farm is a mutual insurance company and it is possible to get a refund of some of your premium (dividend) if claim are low in your state during a given year. I've gotten several dividend checks over the years, reducing my net cost for insurance. A good State Farm agent will help you keep your costs down by only having you insured for those things that are essential. State Farm is the largest auto insurer in the country and is highly rated by all insurance rating agencies.
