I live in Oregon but do not plan on staying here permanently but my car is registered in California. I intend to keep my car registered in California. But do insurance companies require me to insure following Oregon standards or California standards? In other words, if I get into a car accident while temporarily living in Oregon, will my California insurance be valid?

Mind, I recommend you locate a local auto insurance agent to assist you. Since I live in Alaska I can’t suggest an agent in Oregon, but here is an online resource that can help you. http://www.lowestquoteonline.info/Auto-Insurance.html
Hope it works out
leave it all in cal/you will be fine
Since you’re registered in CA, you have to follow CA’s insurance laws. However, how long do you plan to stay in OR? Most states require you to get registered and licensed within 30 days of moving in, even if you’re not staying permanently.
To save money auto insurance is a quite simple way to save a lot of money. You can get a simple estimate online they usually give you multiple prices.
